It’s an action-packed adventure designed to feed the wanderlust of 18 to 30 year-olds. On this budget backpacking tour of Vietnam and Cambodia, start in the ‘Pho’ capital of Hanoi, where streetfood is served on every corner. Travel slowly through the country, sampling the summer rolls as you go. In Phong Nha, explore some of the biggest cave systems in the world before being completely overwhelmed by the chaos of Ho Chi Minh City. Into Cambodia and relax on a quiet and private beach on Koh Rong island, sleeping in hammocks before exploring the ancient ruins at Angkor Wat. These South East Asia experiences will stay with you forever and make you never want to leave.

Day 1 : Meet Your Fellow Dragons!
Location: Hanoi
When you arrive at your hostel in Hanoi, you will take some time to meet your fellow dragons and your new Adventure Leader. After a pre-departure briefing of the trip, you will then have the option to join your group for dinner and perhaps go on a pub crawl.
Day 2 : Travel To Halong Bay
Location: Hạ Long Bay
Today, you will make your way to Halong Bay via bus and boat where you'll spend the next two days touring the wonders of Vietnam's northeast. Upon arrival in Halong Bay, you will enjoy a relaxing boat cruise and visit the best spots for a refreshing dip or a spot of cliff jumping. Afterwards, the group will enjoy a BBQ dinner on a private beach.
Day 3 : Visit Hoa Lo Prison
Location: Hanoi
Today, you will visit the Hoa Lo Prison and learn about Vietnam’s history. After, you will head over to Hoan Kiem Lake with its temple in the centre. You can walk around the lake, watching the locals play games on the wide streets built by the French in the historical centre of Hanoi.
If you’re hungry, you can grab lunch at Old Quarter Street followed by a free afternoon to explore Hanoi’s narrow streets and practise crossing the road like a local. If you fancy some evening entertainment, then you can head out to watch a Water Puppet Show.
Day 4 : Kayak Tour On Halong Bay's Emerald Waters
Location: Hạ Long Bay
You will start the morning off with a kayak tour of Halong Bay's emerald waters. You'll soak up incredible views of the limestone islands and explore some nearby sea caves. After, grab some lunch with the group before making your way to Hanoi. You will take an overnight bus to Phong Nha at 6.30 pm.
Day 5 : Cycle To Bong Lai Village
Location: Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng National Park
Upon arrival at your accommodation, your leader will confirm whether you'd like to embark on a biking adventure and/or partake in the Phong Nha National Cave Tour.
For an unmissable experience, hop on your bike and ride to a pub in Bong Lai Village that offers cold beer, providing a perfect place to relax for a few hours, engage in volleyball, and enjoy other games.
The evening is yours to enjoy, with suggestions available from your Adventure Leader should you wish to explore the town's nightlife.
Day 6 : Discover Phong Nha's Giant Cave Systems
Location: Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park
Wake up early and catch a 4 am bus to Hoi An. You will arrive in Hoi An in the afternoon, where you'll have a tour of the old town and the riverfront. You will have a free morning and we recommend the National Park Tour as an optional activity. This tour includes visits to the Paradise Cave and Dark Cave, with transportation and lunch provided.
After the tour, you'll return to your accommodation and have free time for dinner.
Before the sleeper bus journey to Hoi An, it's a good idea to purchase some bakery/snacks for breakfast the next day. bout the town’s Japanese and Vietnamese history as an important trading post.
Day 7 : Ancient Town Tour Of Hoi An
Location: Hội An
Upon arrival in Hoi An, you'll be picked up by your accommodation and have the chance to relax.
The morning is at your leisure for some rest, but don't hesitate to seek suggestions from your Adventure Leader if you're eager to explore the town.
For a creative experience, consider the Lantern Making Experience. Spend time in a creative space and craft your own handmade souvenir.
An unmissable activity awaits with the Ancient Town Tour. Your leader will guide you to the old town entrance, granting you free time to wander the old town and admire the Japanese bridge.
And of course, your evening can continue with optional activities, so feel free to enjoy a night out.
Day 8 : Venture To Ba Na Hills
Location: Hội An
Today, you have a free day to explore! However, if you want you can participate in some optional activities - (Venture to Ba Na Hills - a French village that can be accessed by the longest cable car in the world! or as an alternative you can visit a local farm or hire a bike and escape to one of Hoi An's sandy beaches). Enjoy a free evening and grab some delicious food or enjoy some local nightlife.
Day 9 : Travel To Ho Chi Minh
Location: Ho Chi Minh City
Explore the captivating Coconut Basket Boat and Farming experience as an optional activity.
Afterwards, it's time for a transfer to Da Nang Airport for your flight to Saigon. Upon your arrival in Saigon, you'll check in at your hostel.
The evening can continue with an optional visit to a Rooftop Bar and Bar Crawl, although if the bar crawl isn't available, your leader will guide you to the bar street for a night out.
Day 10 : Free Time In Ho Chi Minh
Location: Ho Chi Minh City
You'll have a free day in Ho Chi Ming City to spend as you please
Don't miss the opportunity to experience the vibrant Saigon City Orientation Walking Tour, an essential activity for getting to know the city.
In the afternoon, you can engage in a delightful Coffee Workshop Experience. This session provides you with the chance to learn how to make and savour some of the famous Vietnamese coffee at a local shop, offering insights into the country's coffee culture.
If you're in the mood for some evening exploration, the Night Market is available too.
Day 11 : War Remnants Museum And Karaoke Night
Location: Ho Chi Minh City
Discover the historic Cu Chi Tunnels as an optional activity. The availability depends on the group size, and your Adventure Leader will arrange private transportation.
Next, explore the bustling city with the unmissable Saigon City Orientation Walking Tour, which includes a visit to the War Remnants Museum.
Unleash your inner star with an unforgettable Karaoke session!!
Day 12 : Phnom Penh City Walk
Location: Phnom Penh
Upon reaching Phnom Penh, you'll be transported to the city and check in at your hostel.
Please keep in mind that you'll be crossing the border into Cambodia during this journey, and will arrange the visa if needed.
Once you've arrived at your hostel via the bus from Vietnam and checked in, you can embark on an unmissable City Walk.
For an exciting evening, indulge in the Bassac Lane Bar Hop as an optional activity.
Day 13 : S21 Prison & The Killing Fields
Location: Phnom Penh
Take part in a tour around the S21 Prison, and visit the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek to learn about the dark history of Cambodia).
As the sun begins its descent, consider the captivating Sunset Cruise. This 2-hour cruise on the Tonle River includes an English-speaking tour guide and offers unlimited beer and soft drinks along with fresh fruit snacks.
For an evening filled with exploration, the Phnom Penh Night Market awaits as an optional activity. Take a leisurely stroll to the night market with your tour guide. Here, you can engage in some shopping or indulge in one of the delightful dinner recommendations.
Day 14 : Swim With Bioluminescent Plankton
Location: Koh Rong Sanloem
Head to the Cambodian border and set off to Sihanoukville. Here, you will hop on a ferry to Koh Rong Island - an island paradise known for its white sandy beaches, crystal waters and relaxing atmosphere.
Don't miss the chance to partake in unforgettable Sunset Drinks at a Cliffside Bar. We'll all walk together from the hostel to a cliffside bar, offering stunning sunset views extending to Koh Rong.
Additionally, embrace the magic of Swimming with the Plankton during another unmissable activity. Head down to the beach, where you'll collect your masks and snorkels. Accompanied by your guide, you'll wade into the water to experience the marvel of bioluminescent plankton.
Day 15 : Boat Tour & Camp On A Deserted Island
Location: Koh Rong Sanloem
Set off on a fun-filled boat trip with your fellow dragons and enjoy spending the day soaking up the rays on board and exploring the ocean's waters with a spot of snorkelling. As evening approaches, you will get the opportunity to witness some of the island's bioluminescent plankton - tiny organisms that glow when they are disturbed by the movement of the waves. Tonight, you will spend the evening camping on a deserted beach!
Day 16 : Bbq On Koh Rong Sanloem & Travel To Siem Reap
Location: Krong Siem Reap, Koh Rong Sanloem
Engage in Scuba Diving to explore the underwater world. Options include "Try Diving" or "Fun Diving," but booking in advance is advisable.
If you want to give back, why not participate in a Beach Clean to help combat marine plastics?
Afterwards, enjoy an unmissable BBQ Lunch on the Beach with beach games.
Take a speedboat to Sihanoukville, retrieve your bags, and board the boat for the mainland.
In your free time, your bags will be stored, and your leader can assist those looking to buy snacks or supplies.
Board the Sleeper Bus to Siem Reap for the 11-hour journey.noukville. Here, you’ll have a chance to spend some free time before we board a sleeper bus that takes you all the way to Siem Reap!
Day 17 : Siem Reap City Walking Tour
Location: Krong Siem Reap
Arrive at Siem Reap bus terminal and catch a tuk-tuk to your accommodation.
Then embark on an incredible Siem Reap City Walking Tour. Explore the beautiful riverside, visit the Royal Gardens and the Royal Residence, stop by the Made in Cambodia Market, and receive a monk blessing for safe travels at Wat Prum Rat Temple.
Why not treat yourself to a spa session as an optional activity? Your leader can assist with bookings and provide directions if you prefer to walk.
Consider the checking out Phare Circus where you can enjoy a lively Cambodian acrobatic circus show, supporting the development of arts and the Phare School in Battambang, providing free education and arts training to underprivileged children.
Day 18 : Sunrise At Angkor Wat
Location: Angkor Wat, Krong Siem Reap
Wake up at the crack of dawn and set off the UNESCO world heritage site - Angkor Wat - the biggest religious monument in the world!! Spend a couple of hours exploring the Temples of Angkor; amongst them Ta Prohm that gained increased fame for its role in Tomb Raider. In the afternoon, you will head back to the hostel, where you can enjoy some time to relax by the pool. In the evening, take part in an optional activity - (A pub crawl around the centre of Siem Reap).
Day 19 : Lotus Fields Cycling Trip
Location: Krong Siem Reap
Immerse yourself in a half-day cycling adventure, an unmissable activity. You'll journey to a typical Cambodian village, making multiple stops to gain profound insights into local village life. Your guide will lead you through stunning countryside to a local village, introducing you to its people and allowing you to experience life as a local farmer, including visiting a duck farm, learning about rice growth (Cambodia's staple food), and sampling local palm wine. The tour concludes at the lotus fields before returning to Siem Reap.
Day 20 : Departure Day
Location: Bangkok
Hop on a bus to Bangkok, where you'll be dropped off at Khao San Road around 4pm. Here, you will say your goodbyes and either head home or continue with your travels!

Majority of our clients are solo travellers and our prices are based on sharing in dorm style rooms. We do offer single room upgrades for those who do not wish to share a room.

Can you guarantee same-sex dorm rooms?
We always strive to ensure the highest level of comfort and convenience for our valued clients during their travels with us. However, for our tours in Asia, we cannot guarantee same-sex dorm rooms in the hostels we use, particularly during high season, such as the cherry blossom season in Japan. Please rest assured that we do our utmost to accommodate our clients' preferences wherever possible. However, the availability of same-sex dorm rooms ultimately depends on the policies of the hostels we work with. In some cases, different genders may be allocated to the same room due to limited availability.

Passport Details
For most destinations we will require the details to be submitted on our online form (the link for which will be provided post-booking and prior to your travel date). Please note that this needs to be complete & accurate to avoid any late update fees for accommodation and transport bookings. IMPORTANT NOTE: China tours is the only destination where we require an actual copy of your passport. We require these in order to book travel tickets for clients and passports are used during the check-in.

Why do the tours have an age range?
While we strive to cater to a diverse range of travellers, it is important to consider whether the tour aligns with your expectations and preferences. We want your travel experience to be enjoyable and fulfilling, and we believe that selecting a tour that matches your age group and interests is crucial in achieving that. Our tours are very active and jam-packed, including early starts and getting on and off local transportation. There will be a lot of walking, and activities such as cycling. You could be walking up to 20,000 steps per day!

Who will be my travelling companions on the tour?
Our tours are aimed at fun, out-going and open minded individuals. We typically get people aged between 18 to 55 travelling on our trips. Feel free to contact us to see the ages of the people who are booked already. Some of our trips have an upper age limit because of the pace of the tour, style of accommodation and the average age of the group - please do not be offended if we check your age and perhaps recommend a different itinerary. Our premium trips are suitable for most.
