Day 1: Wed Arrive Alice Springs — Kings Canyon (474 Kms Approx)

Welcome to Australia! Upon arrival at the Alice Springs Airport, pick up your car to start your self-drive discovery of Australias Down under. Take the Stuart Highway (201 km) south to the Ayers Rock turn off. Turn west onto the Lasseter Highway. Continue on to Luritja Road to reach the Kings Canyon Resort, your destination for your overnight stay. Skirt the rim of the Canyon and hold your breath as you gaze 300 meters down to the valley floor. The soaring sandstone walls frame the “Garden of Eden”, a unique waterhole surrounded by palms and ferns. The best time to take the Rim Walk is early in the morning.

Day 2: Thu Kings Canyon – Ayers Rock (321 Kms Approx)
Location: Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park
Make an early start to complete the Rim Walk at Kings Canyon. The Rim Walk will take you on a 6 kilometre circuit transcending down into the Garden of Eden and back to the top to wonder at the 360 views. Depending on what pace you take to absorb the humbling scenery, the walk can take around 3-4 hours. Then travel via the Lasseter Highway to the spectacular region of Yulara. Now its time to see the worlds greatest monolith, Uluru (Ayers Rock) and also Kata Tjuta (The Olgas). On your way to see sunset over Uluru, stop at the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre to learn of the regions history and about the unique flora and fauna, how the earth created such remarkable landmarks and how the Aboriginal communities have lived and thrived there for thousands of years. What better way to finish the day, Enjoy the view of the sun setting over Ayers Rock at the famous sunset strip.

Day 3: Fri Ayers Rock
Location: Ayers Rock
An entire day at leisure to explore all that Ayers Rock has to offer. Enjoy a leisurely walk around the Rock, visit the Cultural Centre, be more adventurous and hire a Harley to take a ride around the Rock or take a scenic flight. This afternoon, after the Lunch, you may choose to visit Spectacular Olgas and walk through the Valley of Winds before viewing another Spectacular Sunset.

Day 4: Sat Ayers Rock – Marla (Approx 517Kms)
Location: Ayers Rock
Enjoy the mesmerizing view of sunrise over Uluru as you prepare to depart early morning for a long drive through the Desert. Travel back to the Stuart Highway and turn south to Kulgera. Continue over the border into South Australia through the desert
towards Marla, which marks the start of the famous Oodnadatta Track.

Day 5: Sun Marla – Coober Pedy (Approx 234Kms)
Location: Coober Pedy
Your journey continues southwards on the Stuart Highway, pass through Cadney Homestead and arrive at the opal mining town of Coober Pedy. The name ‘Coober Pedy is Aboriginal for ‘white fellows hole in the ground. This is extremely appropriate as most of the population live underground in dug-outs to protect them from the severe summer temperatures, often reaching 45C. Take some time to explore the town this afternoon.

Day 6: Mon Coober Pedy – Port Augusta (Approx 546Kms)
Location: Port Augusta
Travel south along the Stuart Highway, through the desert, to reach the town of Port Augusta, at the top of Spencer Gulf. This is a busy seaport town which is the last major centre along the road linking Western Australia with South Australia. The proximity to the Flinders Ranges makes it an ideal spot to explore this largest mountain range of South Australia. You can perhaps choose to visit City of Port Augustas Wadlata Outback Centre, introducing you to the life of an Australian outback or Australian Arid Lands Botanical Garden, a unique Garden showcasing a diverse collection of arid zone habitats in picturesque surroundings.

Day 7: Tue Port Augusta - Adelaide (Approx 306Kms)
Location: Adelaide
A pleasant drive takes you to the city of Adelaide. Arrive and directly proceed to the international airport to drop your vehicle, preferably before the hour you picked up on Day 01, for your flight back home with cherished memories.

What happens if I need to change my holiday date once I’ve booked?
Changes to an existing reservation up to the Final Payment Date, whatever the cause, will incur a $100 per person amendment fee, potential loss of any supplier fees (such as non-refundable event tickets, park permits, and sea cruise reservations) plus any costs for replacement services. On/ after the Final Payment Date, the $100 change fee is no longer valid, instead cancellations terms apply.
