Day 1: Fri Arrive Perth — Cervantes (200 Kms Approx)

Welcome to Australia! Upon arrival at the Perth International Airport, you will pick up your car to start your self-drive journey. Arrive and pick up your vehicle and travel to Cervantes, a small fishing town is the gateway to Nambung National Park, home to the Pinnacles, a desert area spotted with many ancient rock pillars amid shifting sand dunes. Arrive and check in at the hotel. After a brief rest choose to explore these amazing rock formations or you can try your hand on sand boarding.

Day 2: Sat Cervantes – Geraldton (223 Kms Approx)
Location: Geraldton

This morning travel on to Geraldton via Greenough. A major port and administrative center of the mid-west region, Geraldon enjoys year-round sunny climate and mild winters making it a perfect year-round getaway. Geraldton and surrounding districts are also note for the beautiful wild spring flowers and the scenic countryside. Arrive and check in at the hotel. You have the day free to explore Geraldton. You may choose to visit the Geraldton Foreshore and city center which offers you opportunity to walk, get engaged in beach activities or enjoy water activities like fishing, snorkelling and scuba diving, windsurfing and kitesurfing etc. Perhaps you can visit HMAS Sydney memorial, dedicated to world war II cruiser HMAS Sydney which got destroyed in a fight with German Cruiser Kormoran in Nov1941, with none of the 645 crewmen onboard surviving.

Day 3: Sun Geraldton - Kalbarri (154 Kms Approx)

Head back out to the highway and turn North, travel along the Northwest coastal highway to the reach Kalbarri, the base to explore Kalbarri National Park. Arrive and check in at the hotel. After a brief rest explore Kalbarri National Park and Muchinson River, known for its spectacular gorges and abundant wildflowers, it is believed to preserve over 850 species of them. Kalbarri National Park preserves the inland desert regions of red and white striped Tumblagooda sandstone east of the town of Kalbarri, and the coastline south of town which features cliffs more than 100mts high, apart from several wind and water eroded rock formations including a sea stack and a natural bridge.

Day 4: Mon Kalbarri – Monkey Mia (390 Kms Approx)

Your drive continues to take you North on the Northwest Coastal Highway to Monkey Mia and Shark Bay World Heritage Area. As you approach Shark Bay visit the living marine stromatolites at Hamelin Pool. We suggest you also make a stop at the stunning 110-kilometre Shell Beach – a beach made up of billions of tiny white shells. Further on enjoy the breathtaking views from Eagle Bluff. From the town of Denham it is 27 kilometres north-east by sealed road to Monkey Mia.

Day 5: Tue Monkey Mia

A day to rest, relax and experience this beautiful area. Visit the Bottlenose dolphins, or just relax on the fantastic beaches. You may perhaps choose one of the several boat tours which leave Monkey Mia to view the dugongs or ‘sea cows which graze among the seagrass beds. We recommend an afternoon sunset cruise on the Shotover catamaran.

Day 6: Wed Monkey Mia -Carnarvon (Approx 340Kms)

Travel the Northwest Coastal Highway northwards along the coast to Carnarvon, on the mouth of Gascoyne River. Sandwiched between Shark Bay world heritage area in South and the Ningaloo Reef in the North, Carnarvon is the commercial centre of the highly productive Gascoyne River.

Day 7: Thu Carnarvon- Exmouth (Approx 363Kms)

Continue your drive northwards, turn off to Coral Bay just past the Minilya Roadhouse, Coral Bay is the gateway to the fantastic coral of Ningaloo Reef and the Ningaloo Marine Park with its underwater viewing platform. Although more famous for its whale sharks which feed here between March and August, its coral reef is rich in colour and diversity and rivals the Great Barrier Reef on the east coast for diving, snorkeling and viewing pleasure.

Day 8: Fri Exmouth

Enjoy a complete day at leisure, explore the magnificent coastal region and reef at your own leisurely pace. Perhaps take a half day snorkel cruise to get up close to the majestic Manta Rays. Exmouth is popular for diving and snorkelling. Some of the most famous snorkelling spots include Turquoise Bay and Oysters Stacks.

Day 9: Sat Exmouth – Karijini (Approx 640Kms)

Take an early start, a long journey of over 600kms awaits you. Todays journey takes you into the depths of the breathtaking Karijini National Park. Depart Port Hedland and travel on the Great Northern Highway, which turns south to take you to Karijini National Park. Located north of the Tropic of Capricorn, the park is most notable for its many Gorges, containing slot canyons, waterfalls and water holes with visitors sometimes swimming in the cold pools of water.

Explore the winding, jagged gorges of Karijini National Park. Visit Joffe Gorge and enjoy some easy strolls along spectacular lookouts or some more difficult paths among sheer rock cliffs, crystal clear pools and cascading waterfalls. You may get a chance to encounter Red Kangaroos, Rock Wallabies, Euros and Echidnas apart from the various species of reptiles and birds.

Once the administrative centre of the region, with a population of less than 1500, it has long been overshadowed by other towns and industries. Gateway to the Australias massive iron ore exports from the surrounding Pilbara Region, Port Hedland has a flatback sea turtle rookery located on the main beachfront, several lookouts on the beachfront allow views of marine mammals like Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins, Indo-Pacific humpbacked dolphins and Australian snubfin dolphins.

What happens if I need to change my holiday date once I’ve booked?
Changes to an existing reservation up to the Final Payment Date, whatever the cause, will incur a $100 per person amendment fee, potential loss of any supplier fees (such as non-refundable event tickets, park permits, and sea cruise reservations) plus any costs for replacement services. On/ after the Final Payment Date, the $100 change fee is no longer valid, instead cancellations terms apply.
